Brimham Rocks

by Pete, March 2009

A beautiful Spring day for the task at Brimham in early March. We returned to the woods around the Base Camp to continue our task from our last visit before Christmas, although this time without the wonderful winter snow. Jobs for the day included dragging and burning recently felled birch scrub, the removal of an old boundary fence, the erection of new straining posts at strategic points along the old fence line (rough carpentry involved), and digging in a couple of compost bins for food waste from the base camp.

That is not just a glove resting there (in the photo on the right) - For some reason known only to herself, Issy decided to see what the inside of a compost bin was like!

Thanks to warden Richard for providing a range of interesting tasks for everyone. The view over Nidderdale was just spectacular.
